Prinitha enjoys a bit of retail therapy to complement her personal style, so we had a chat about her love for handbags.

1. Describe Prinitha in 5 words.

Confident, creative, classy, quirky and passionate!

2. Your first handbag?

My first handbag was given to me by my mother when I was 13 years old, one that she used when she was in her 30’s. It was a small black suede pouch bag with a drawstring and I remember it had an intricate base that resembled a sari print with gold leaves and flowers with pops of pink and turquoise. I always admired her style and beauty so I absolutely treasured this bag.

3. What’s your style?

I’m all about timeless style and feminine elegance. For me it’s about keeping things simple and being comfortable in what I’m wearing as I think that how you carry yourself is just as important as what you’re wearing, probably even more. You’ll never scout me wearing uber high heels if I can’t walk elegantly in them. And you won’t find me wearing super comfortable shoes that don’t align with my personal style. I’m also all about tailoring and investing in classic pieces.

4. Tell us about your first experience with Mon Purse?

I initially spotted Mon Purse at the Myer Melbourne store where I went in and browsed and inspected the different leathers and handbags – I noticed how soft and luxurious the leathers were and how beautifully the bags were put together. A couple of months later I hopped online to buy a tote which involved personalising my own handbag – it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed choosing the different textures, colours, hardware and monogramming my new handbag. I ended up ordering The Boss Lady Bag, but also fell in love with some of their other styles, like the Oversized Clutch and Top Handle bag. A few weeks later my accessories arrived, and that was next level – opening the boxes and styling them up!

5. How do you feel when you give/receive a personalised gift?

For me, getting a personalised gift is like getting much more than a gift. It’s a token of the time and effort someone has taken for me, creating a very special moment, which is priceless. It’s also one of a kind and unique, and there’s something to love about that alone.

6. Your relationship with your handbag?

My handbag is my everyday survival kit so I treat it with respect. It’s also about practicality, style and quality and choosing something that flatters my body’s proportions. As I’m more of a quality versus quantity type of girl, I choose my handbags very carefully. While I think its hard to find the perfect bag that can suit all my needs, if I’ve got the staples covered I’m sorted – a chic clutch, a tailored workbag, a statement bag, a roomy tote and a cute cross-body are my handbag must haves. I think a woman’s handbag can also make-or-break any outfit and a good handbag can have a tremendously transformative effect.
